Acumi Kerepek: Sprouting During Trying Times

Local snack company Acumi Kerepek was the recipient of the Promising Business in Food Production (Traditional Snacks) award at the recent Bumiputera Business Excellence Awards 2021 which commended the best of Malaysia's homegrown businesses as they excelled amidst challenging times. Speaking on Acumi Kerepek’s win at the BBEA 2021, Mohamad Afham credited his success to their loyal 'Acumi Avengers’ and customers for playing an important role in making the brand a success.
“This award is an injector of enthusiasm for Acumi Kerepek to keep achieving more in the industry. We will continue to serve our mission and vision for Acumi Kerepek to become a model that helps as many people as possible in need and support the development of the national economy,” said Afham. Started by entrepreneur couple Mohd Afham bin Hj Mohd Sadini and his wife Noor Eliana binti Sapiai, Acumi Kerepek sells homemade chips with the promise of being crispy, fresh and tasty. Primarily handling distributions through a stockist agent system and OEM concepts, the
brand operates in a diversified manner, owning a raw material processing and packaging hub, as well as a farmyard to grow their fresh produce and a place of sale retail in Putrajaya to facilitate their business.
Afham also shared on his plans to expand their efforts to become a leading chips distributor in the country, with hopes to bring the Acumi Kerepek brand to the foreign market in the near future.
