Promising Business in Confectionary awardee at the Bumiputera Business Excellence Award (BBEA) 2021, DD TRISYIA MAYRA is a prominent local food business based in Alor Gajah, Melaka. Known for the production and sales of traditionally made ‘kuih koci’ delicacy, the business has been in operations since early January 2020, specializing in the making of a variety of ‘kuih koci’ flavours including pumpkin, red bean, pandan and many more. The owner of the business, Norosniza Bt Mohamad, mentioned that the award is really special to her as it has been a very challenging year operating her business in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic which badly affected the economy. “This award is very important for me and my business venture, DD TRISYIA MAYRA TRADING as it has helped elevate the reach of my business and bring me one step closer to realizing my dreams to bring my products to a bigger market and audience. On top of this, I am also very proud that the recognition was given to a local traditional delicacy like ‘kuih koci’, which we have been producing for generations now,” said Norosniza.

Some of the signature items sold by DD Trisyia include the traditional ‘kuih koci’ and also the ‘Kuih Koci Leleh Kak Ros’, which are both sold in ready-to-eat and frozen forms. Speaking of her aspirations to grow the business further, Norosniza mentioned that she hopes to cater and expand her business to both the local and international markets while also improving her sales through strategic marketing initiatives. When sharing her advice to budding entrepreneurs like her who wish to venture into the F&B industry, Norosniza says that youngsters can definitely see success in entrepreneurship for as long as they have the desire and hunger to succeed in something that they are passionate about.

“Don’t be afraid to venture into the business world. You have nothing to worry if you have the passion to succeed and also make sure that you are constantly open to learning new skills and knowledge. Another very important point is to also make sure you find yourself a good mentor who is able to give you valuable advice in times of need,” she added.
